Investing in the Future of Farm Broadcasting
Now more than ever, agriculture needs to invest in future leaders who will shape the industry.
The NAFB Foundation is the nonprofit charitable and education arm of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting, focused on ensuring the quality and viability of farm broadcasting and ag communications. Through generous corporate and individual donations, and proceeds from an annual auction, the Foundation supports annual scholarships to students studying ag communications and internship grants to member stations and networks. In addition, the Foundation also provides investments in continuing education, marketing and research initiatives.
In 2025, the foundation reached a milestone of funding more than $1 million since its founding in 1974, in support of students and young professionals seeking a career in ag communications.
Says Meghan Grebner, NAFB Foundation president: "This is a tremendous milestone, and it has been made possible through the generous support of corporate donations, booster club contributions, and funds raised at our annual auction. Together, we are strengthening farm broadcasting and building better communicators for all of American agriculture."
“I never originally set out to pursue farm broadcasting. It wasn’t even on my radar until a radio station – affiliated with NAFB – reached out to share the opportunities that existed in this space. Thanks to a grant from the NAFB Foundation, I was able to take part in an initial internship that opened the door to everything that followed. Later, an NAFB scholarship became a valuable financial tool to help support my education.”
Bryce Doeschot, Rural Radio Network
“The scholarships and internships from NAFB have helped fuel my passion for amplifying the positive stories of agriculture. The opportunity to learn and grow from other broadcasters were just as valuable.”
