Continuing Education Grants
As farm broadcasters, we may be out of school, but our education isn’t done.
NAFB Foundation Continuing Education Grants provide an opportunity for NAFB farm broadcasters to take advantage of opportunities for growth. The Foundation is providing a maximum of $5,000 in grants annually*. Individual members of the NAFB Broadcast Council are eligible to apply for a maximum of $1,000.
Applicants shall provide what the opportunity is, the amount of funding requested, how the funds will be used and how the opportunity benefits the applicant. Members shall be in good standing with NAFB and a member of the organization for at least one full calendar year. Recipients shall not be eligible for another grant for two years following the funding release.
Applications will be evaluated within two weeks of the information being received. Upon grant approval, checks will be made payable to the broadcaster’s employer or the event/course being attended/completed; please include a mailing address to where the check should be mailed should your grant application be approved.
NAFB Foundation Continuing Education Grants may be used for a variety of educational opportunities. Examples include:
- Tuition for a college course (preference for agriculture or communications course)
- Leadership development training/state ag leadership program
- Assist in underwriting a farm broadcaster’s expenses to participate in an international trade mission
- Registration fees for Ag Media Summit or similar meetings
- Educational webinars
- Other ideas are welcome!
