Scholarship Program

Investing in the Future of Farm Broadcasting

For nearly 50 years, a hallmark of NAFB and its foundation has been to invest in and providing a path for future ag communicators and leaders.

Since 1977, the NAFB Foundation has provided financial support and educational opportunities in the form of college scholarships to students in pursuit of careers in agricultural communications. The foundation provided the first scholarship for $1,000 in 1977, and since then more than 160 students have received scholarships totaling $685,750 to pursue careers in agricultural communications.

This year’s recipients will be recognized at the 2025 NAFB Convention this November in Kansas City, and each receives an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award.

How to Apply

Applicants must be a college junior, senior, or graduate student for the fall semester and enrolled in or transferring to an agricultural communications curriculum. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with concentration and/or application in broadcast media (includes internet/online media distribution).

"For me, the scholarship wasn't just about the money. It was about physically coming into contact with people who were doing what I hoped to do. The exposure I got from NAFB members from across the U.S. was energizing!"
Pam Jahnke, Mid-West Farm Report

Receiving an NAFB Foundation scholarship was more than just financial support. It was a vote of confidence in my future. Because of the support from the foundation, I've been able to advance my career and contribute to the industry that I love."
Shannon Yokley Reenan, Incarnate Consulting
