Creating the future of farm broadcasting
Now more than ever, agriculture needs to invest in future leaders who will shape the industry.
NAFB and the NAFB Foundation are committed to investing in the future leaders who will shape the agriculture industry. For those studying agriculture communications, a student membership in NAFB provides a valuable connection to farm broadcasters, allied industry and other ag influencers. It's also a ticket to other great benefits to help with professional growth through ongoing educational programming and our mentorship program.
Students are also encouraged to check out the following programs:
College scholarships. Each year, the NAFB Foundation offers multiple college scholarships. These scholarships are recognized at the NAFB Convention, and the recipients also receive an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award. Applicants must be a college junior, senior, or graduate student prior to the application deadline and must be enrolled in or transferring to an agricultural communications curriculum with concentration and/or application in broadcast media.
Internship programs. The NAFB Foundation provides yearly internship grants to member stations and networks that help them host interns each summer. Students are encouraged to contact their local farm broadcaster about internship opportunities that may be available.
Social Media Corps at NAFB Convention. NAFB offers an opportunity for students to participate in the Social Media Corps program. Participants are chosen through a competitive application process.
