Farm Radio Listenership See Highlights of Our Research

Research Confirms Value of Farm Radio

Farm broadcasting has been a vital part of agriculture since the first broadcaster went on the air more than 100 years ago. Today, the medium is as important as it ever was, delivering trusted local ag news, weather and market information to farmers, ranchers and rural audiences.

Even with the abundance of multiple media and information sources that U.S. farmers have at their fingertips today, the trust in the farm broadcaster leads listeners to rank ag radio as their #1 choice for daily ag news and information.

Learn more in our 2025 national listenership research study of 1,001 farmers and ranchers, conducted by Kynetec Research.

Empowering the Future of Ag Communications

More than $1 million provided to future ag communicators since 1977.

Since its inception in 1977, the NAFB Foundation has funded more than $1 million in college scholarships and internship grants to assist students and young professionals in their pursuit of careers in agricultural communications.

The scholarships and grants are made possible through the generous support of corporate donations, booster club contributions, and funds raised during the foundation's annual auction.

In 2025, the NAFB Foundation is offering multiple $7,500 college scholarships and one $10,000 scholarship. This year’s recipients will be recognized at NAFB Convention this November in Kansas City, and each receives an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award.

The application window for the 2025 NAFB Foundation Scholarship Program is now open! Click the link below or email info@nafb.com for additional information.
