AIC Election Profile: Cassie Becker

Cassie Becker is the publications and media relations specialist for GROWMARK, Inc. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Illinois, College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences (ACES) with a degree in agricultural communications, and a focus in advertising and public relations.

Becker began her career in agricultural communications with GROWMARK as the public relations associate and in 2013 was hired into her current role. She serves as editor-in-chief for the quarterly employee magazine, SOURCE, and works to combine valuable content with attractive visuals and layouts for readers. She also serves as the first point of contact for media, and is responsible for identifying relevant news items for media, and connecting media with GROWMARK System experts.

Becker is a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau, McLean County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA), National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), American Agricultural Editors Association (AAEA), and National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB). She serves on the NAMA membership committee and recently attended the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) 2014 international congress to Scotland, providing the opportunity to experience the agricultural industry on a global scale.

Becker currently resides in Bloomington, Illinois.
