Happy 2016! Here is to a profitable new year to you and your shops! The new year is going to be an exciting one for our organization. With the final wave of our research being completed to some new learning opportunities there should be something for everyone to take advantage of this year.
Speaking of new opportunities, each month there will be a link to a short video that will answer a sales or marketing question you may have. My friend, Matt Mittendorp from Sales Math, has agreed to do the video each month on a question submitted from the membership. This month's question is; How do I work with a business that says they don't need to advertise because business is too good but then they say they can't advertise because business is too bad. Matt's answer can be found here If you have a question for Matt, please send them to me.
NAFB was well represented at this year's American Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Florida. It was great to see many of you covering this event, and a special thank you to Sabrina Hill with Ag Net West for the great idea of hosting a workshop on working with the media. The workshop was well attended and it could have gone on for more than the 45 minutes that was allotted. Up next will be the Cattlemen's Convention in San Diego the last week of January. In February, I will be going to Washington DC as part of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association DC Fly-In and will have a chance to meet with FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai. If you have anything you would like me to talk with the Commissioner about, please let me know. In March its Commodity Classic and then in April we have Washington Watch. Once again, there will be hotel rooms available at a cost of $99, so I encourage you to make plans now to attend this years event. Thank you to Michelle Rook, Gale Cunningham and Janet Adkison for organizing this years Washington Watch.
Your board of directors will be meeting this month. If you have any questions, concerns or issues you would like discussed, please feel free to contact me or your Regional Vice President. We are all here to serve you!
Until next month, be happy!
