
NAFB Industry Engagement Manager
The NAFB Industry Engagement Manager is responsible for advancing the mission of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting by driving non-dues revenue and strengthening engagement across the agricultural value chain. This role requires deep familiarity with production agriculture, ag communications, and the needs of commodity groups, agribusinesses, checkoff organizations, cooperatives, and other partners who rely on NAFB to reach rural and farm audiences.
The Industry Engagement Manager is a strategic thinker, adept at developing and maintaining valuable relationships with sponsors, advertisers, exhibitors, and corporate partners and driving revenue growth for the association. The manager is also experienced at event management, directing the flawless execution of NAFB’s annual convention and other events. This position collaborates closely with the Executive Director and member leadership and volunteers to support association priorities, enhance member value, and foster long-term industry partnerships.
Sales & Revenue Development
- Execute revenue strategies aligned with the mission and financial sustainability of NAFB.
- Manage the full sales cycle—including prospecting, proposal creation, presentations, contracting, and renewals – to meet sales targets.
- Maintain a robust prospecting pipeline targeting agribusinesses, commodity organizations, checkoff boards, associations, and rural-focused companies.
- Sell sponsorships and exhibitor packages for NAFB Convention and Washington Watch.
- Market and sell NAFB News Service offerings.
Industry & Partner Relations
- Cultivate and steward strong relationships with agricultural industry partners, ensuring that NAFB remains a trusted communications channel for the ag sector.
- Serve as a liaison for corporate sponsors, delivering excellent service and fostering long-term engagement.
- Represent NAFB at agricultural meetings, commodity events, trade shows, and industry conferences to expand visibility and strengthen partnerships.
- Conduct regular outreach to understand ag industry priorities, emerging issues, and partner communication needs.
Event Planning & Program Support
- Collaborate with staff, contract event planners, volunteer leaders, and committees to plan and execute major NAFB programs, including the national Convention and Washington Watch.
- Troubleshoot issues proactively and provide leadership throughout event execution.
- Prepare event budgets and manage logistics such as venue contracts, vendor relationships, speakers and catering/BEOs.
- Manage sponsor fulfillment to ensure accurate delivery of benefits and a seamless onsite experience for association supporters.
Strategic & Organizational Support
- Monitor agriculture industry trends, policy developments, communications needs, and marketplace shifts to inform sales outreach strategies.
- Provide regular reporting to Executive Director on revenue performance, pipeline status, and industry insights.
- Recommend new products, sponsorship models, and partnership opportunities that reflect the evolving needs of agricultural organizations.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to develop promotional content, association materials, and sales collateral.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging opportunities to guide sales strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in agriculture industry, including marketing, sales, business development, and industry relations.
- Deep experience and strong relationships in the agriculture industry
- Proven strategy, communications, public relations and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
- Experience with event management and trade show management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with learning new systems and technologies.
