PFEIFFER NAMED PRESIDENT OF HOOSIER AG TODAY – Eric Pfeiffer will become the president of Hoosier Ag Today (HAT) on Jan. 1, 2025.
Pfeiffer started his broadcasting career as a teenager in high school.
“I started doing radio in 2003, but I went full time in 2005 after I graduated high school,” Pfeiffer said. “I was the youngest news director in the history of WSAL and WLHM in Logansport, Indiana.”
His career took a turn out of radio for a while, but he did stay connected to broadcasting.
“I managed retail stores for AT&T, but I still did work in radio on the side,” Pfeiffer said. “I did play-by-play sports reports for WSAL and WLHM for many years. I also worked for Purdue University in their IT department.”
Seven years ago, Pfeiffer decided to rejoin broadcasting full-time.
“I started at Hoosier Ag Today in January 2018, and that’s when I became a farm broadcaster,” Pfeiffer said. “I instantly fell in love with the farmers in Indiana, and I never thought I would end up in agriculture. I love this industry because of the people I work with.”
As president, he will make many choices that affect the company.
“It’s going to be very different, but I am thankful for a great team to lean on during this transition,” Pfeiffer said. “I’ll lead the company and ensure we’re moving in the right direction.”
As part-owner of HAT, Pfeiffer is proud of what the company has accomplished.
“We’re locally owned, and not many companies in the media space can say that,” Pfeiffer said. “I am honored to be able to report what’s going on in the agricultural industry and to serve farmers and ranchers.”
Pfeiffer is eager as he looks to the future of Hoosier Ag Today.
“I am looking forward to carrying on the legacy of this company that its founders established,” Pfeiffer said. “I’m excited to see what it’ll be as this new generation comes in, and we’ll see what the future has in store.”
