Bio:  The NAFB is an organization that has continuously given back to me and is one I feel strongly about serving and giving back to now. Without the NAFB, I truly don’t think I would be where I am in my career today. Throughout my time as a member, the NAFB has awarded me a scholarship, which helped pay my grad-school tuition and also awarded me an internship grant; both which came at times of great financial need. It is because of these two awards, plus the countless networking opportunities the organization has awarded me, that I feel it is my turn to serve. I have always been passionate about education and getting younger members involved, and that will be the focus of my time in office is focusing on what we can do to increase and retain participation in younger members.

I started out just six years ago not knowing exactly what area of broadcasting I wanted to enter, but through my NAFB connections, was able to find my way. I have now worked in EVERY facet of ag broadcasting, from print media with Agri-Pulse, to radio broadcasting with Your Ag Network, and even TV with This Week in Agribusiness. Although today I may pose as a non-traditional member with my daily agricultural podcast, Ag News Daily, I still believe it’s more important now than ever to join forces with all types of ag media to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate news and information is being shared with producers.
