The Plambeck Award

Plambeck Award Header

The Plambeck Award is named in honor of past NAFB President and Hall of Fame Inductee Herb Plambeck. The Plambeck Award recognizes the best single and series radio commercials that air on NAFB stations and networks. It is the goal of NAFB to promote and recognize commercials designed to inform, influence, motivate, and entertain their target audiences.

Submissions are judged by a third-party panel and NAFB past presidents.

The call for entries for the 2026 awards will be in the summer. Watch this page for more information.

Herb Plambeck was a well-known author, public affairs assistant and agricultural broadcaster. He started in broadcasting at WHO Radio in Des Moines, Iowa, and was considered the "Voice of America Agriculture" for more than 60 years.

As a founding member of NAFB, Herb Plambeck dedicated his career to serving his audience, concentrating on sharing agriculture news, markets, and information with the highest quality.

Herb's focus on quality throughout his career is why the Plambeck Award for Creative Excellence is named in his honor.
