Bio: I am vice president of communications for the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), which I joined in 2008 after holding a similar position with the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. I was raised on a diversified family farm in central Nebraska and hold a Bachelor of Journalism degree and a master's degree in economics, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
At USMEF, I am responsible for all media relations and produce audio, video, and print news reports on USMEF activities and issues affecting red meat trade. I also issue daily bulletins to exporting companies and provide regular market updates to USMEF's funding sources.
I would like to serve on the NAFB Board of Directors because USMEF enjoys an outstanding and productive relationship with farm broadcasters throughout the country. They are trusted voices who help USMEF communicate the importance of international trade to farmers, ranchers and everyone employed in U.S. agriculture. If given the opportunity to serve on the NAFB board, I believe I can share this experience with other Allied Industry Council members – and prospective members – and help NAFB cultivate similar partnerships with agricultural businesses and other trade associations.
