Lamp Interns For Helena Products Group

Jessie Lamp, a junior at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, interned for Helena Products Group this summer. She is a student member of NAFB.

Lamp is an agricultural and environmental sciences communication major and has been involved in agriculture for most of her life.

“I was involved in 4-H at a young age, and when I got to high school, I joined FFA,” Lamp said. “I was involved in parliamentary procedure and some other leadership development events. Throughout my FFA journey, I discovered my love and passion for Nebraska agriculture.”

She knew she wanted a career in the agriculture industry, but she was unsure what path she wanted to pursue.

“When I began college, I was a hospitality major, but I wanted to explore the career paths within the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources,” Lamp said. “They had many opportunities, and I knew I wanted to be in that goal-driven environment. I switched majors to agricultural communication and got involved with the Engler Entrepreneurship Program.”

Lamp served as the marketing intern for Helena Products Group this past summer.

“As the marketing intern, I was tasked with going out into the field to take plot photos for the social media content team,” Lamp said. “I got to help with the FieldLink podcast by writing and editing the scripts. I also got to be on the podcast.”

She was also involved in events like the Helena Evolve Innovation Expo. Lamp was assigned to assist with an internal initiative called Helena One.

“I worked on a video, and I got to personally meet the CEO, the CFO, and the vice president,” Lamp said. “I coordinated all moving parts from writing the scripts, directing the interview, and editing the footage.”

Her favorite part of the internship was the people she worked with and learned from.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with,” Lamp said. “Walking into the office and being excited to work was great. I got to experience great collaboration, and everyone was so friendly to me. They made me feel at home.”
