Hello there! I’m Lainey Kitzmann, and this summer I had the opportunity to intern at the Northern Ag Network in Billings, Montana. Ever since my sophomore year of high school, it was a dream of mine to work with the Brown family at Northern Ag Network. As an intern, I had the privilege to produce agricultural radio programs and news spanning across Montana, Wyoming and the western Dakotas, all aimed at supporting our farmers and ranchers.
My time at Northern Ag was both exciting and educational. I had the chance to unleash my creativity through various social media engagement tasks and put my photography skills to good use!
What I cherish most about my experience at Northern Ag Network are the people. Every day, I had the pleasure of working alongside dedicated individuals and meeting new faces. Attending major agricultural events throughout Montana over the summer was a highlight, where I even met some of Northern Broadcasting's biggest fans who recognized my name from our programs!
My passion for agriculture took root in Montana, where I became involved in the industry during high school. By my sophomore year, I proudly played a role in re-establishing an FFA Chapter in Billings, serving as its president. Additionally, I achieved the distinction of being the first Billings member in more than 30 years to win at the state level and compete at the National Convention.
Currently a junior at Montana State University, I am pursuing a degree in Agriculture Communications with certificates in business entrepreneurship and leadership fellows.
Looking ahead to my graduation in fall 2025, I aim to combine my skills in photography and technology with my agricultural communications degree to make a meaningful impact in the industry, advocating for farmers and ranchers in innovative ways.
