Moriarty Assists With 30th Anniversary Event

Susan Moriarty, head of communications and events for Mahindra Ag North America (MAgNA), assisted with planning and executing MAgNA’s 30th anniversary celebration.

“To celebrate the milestone and our longstanding commitment to the community, more than 250 MAgNA employees participated in a day of service at the Houston Food Bank – moving 30,302 pounds of food and personal items that ultimately provided 25,250 meals to those who needed it most,” Moriarty said. “Additionally, the Pontiac, Michigan, and field sales and service teams volunteered in their local communities.”

Moriarty coordinated the efforts for MAgNA employees to give back to their community.

“It was my pleasure to participate alongside our employees,” Moriarty said. “We had fun contributing together, and it was personally touching to see all our planning come to life by spending a day in active service for the people in our community. As a company dedicated to supporting generations of farmers, ranchers, and rural property owners, it was gratifying to partner with the Houston Food Bank, an organization that is dedicated to providing hunger relief for better lives, in honor of our 30 years in the U.S.”

She says it’s important for the agricultural communications industry to stay connected to the community and give back.

“Agricultural communications and community service are critical as they bridge the gap between farmers, consumers, and other stakeholders to empower rural Americans to achieve greater food security,” Moriarty said. “Together, we can build stronger communities, starting with education on where fresh-grown food originates and expanding to how farmers touch the lives of people around them.”

Moriarty is deeply involved with NAFB and has enjoyed the community of agricultural communicators it has introduced her to.

“I’ve been involved in several Trade Talks, and it’s always a pleasure to talk with NAFB members nationwide,” Moriarty said. “These are treasured relationships, and it’s amazing to see news being made right in front of my eyes! Agricultural communicators impress me with their willingness to listen and learn, contributing to a breadth and depth of knowledge of the topics they are covering.”
