Sabrina Halvorson is a 30-year veteran of the media industry. With most of that time spent in broadcasting, she has worked in both television and radio as well as traditional print and digital. During her general news career, she was called on to report on high-profile crimes as well as political and national happenings including the Clinton impeachment and the September 11 attacks. Halvorson has won several awards either individually or as leader of a news team, including the RTNDA Best Newscast, Edward R. Murrow Award, and Emmys. Since shifting from general news to farm broadcasting more than a decade ago, she has sought out opportunities to serve the industry. Halvorson has held positions on the NAFB Board of Directors including West Region Vice President and Marketing & Promotions Chair. In 2015, she was selected to be in the inaugural NAFB Leadership Academy. Halvorson also served as chairperson of the News Service Committee and a member of the Washington Watch Committee, and she volunteered with the NAFB mentorship committee for several years as a mentor and program coordinator. Her position with AgNet Media gives her the unique opportunity to be active in each of the NAFB’s regions as her reports air in all three. She believes in servant leadership and wants to help NAFB grow while its members thrive. Member retention and overall awareness of farm broadcasting as a modern career choice also are important to Halvorson. She wants to share her enthusiasm for the industry and serve the organization.
