Winters Enjoying New Role on Transportation Energy Partners Board

Paul Winters, director of public affairs and federal communications for Clean Fuels Alliance America, says his position on the Transportation Energy Partners Board, which he joined in October 2024, is a natural.

Winters grew up in San Diego, California, and he graduated from UCLA and the University of California, Davis. He got involved in agriculture through his career.

“I moved to Washington, D.C., 25 years ago, and worked for C-SPAN for a little bit,” Winters said. “I got into the agriculture industry through the biotechnology industry. I worked as an advocate for companies that convert agricultural feedstocks into renewable fuels.”

He has spent 20 years in the renewable fuel industry and found his position at Clean Fuels Alliance America six years ago. His employer is a partner with the Transportation Energy Partners (TEP). TEP is a national, non-profit organization that brings Clean Cities coalition leaders together with the clean transportation industry to achieve energy independence by promoting policies that advance markets for cleaner fuels and vehicles.

“The Clean Cities coalitions promote solutions for reducing transportation emissions, and they support all types of alternative fuels and fuel efficiency,” Winters said. “TEP guides those groups on federal policy and advocates for policies that support the implementation of fuel efficiency and renewable fuels.”

As a member of the Board of Directors, Winters has an important role in clean energy.

“I am an advocate for clean fuel production, and this industry has a widespread impact on various communities,” Winters said. “It helps reduce tailpipe and carbon emissions substantially and boosts the economy. It generates better air for people to breathe, which helps create a healthier environment.”

Winters is proud to have a positive impact on the agricultural industry as well as the clean fuels industry.
