Q1: Hi Carah! Can you introduce yourself?
A1: My name is Carah Hart. I am a farm broadcaster in the Red River Valley in a city called Grand Fox, North Dakota. I talk to farmers about what is going on in their fields, crops, and cattle. We also discuss economy. It is a lot of fun!
Q2: What motivated you to join the NAFB?
A1: I joined the NAFB when I was in high school. I had an internship opportunity as a result of how the NAFB foundation gave a grant to my local radio station which is about an hour from Kansas City. I learned how to read the market in the summer and I had the opportunity to attend the NAFB convention that year and really fell in love with the people that I met. There, I decided it was what I wanted to do. I won one of the foundation scholarship while I was in school.
Q3: What is the value of NAFB to your career goal?
A3: I think the NAFB is great place to network and a lot of people will agree with me on that. We love to talk, we establish a lot valuable and great professional relationship. All these has helped me tremendously on my path to achieve my goal.
Q4: How will you describe your normal working day?
A4: It is not usually too crazy. It is always changing. There will be a day that I will be in the office and call folks up for interviews and on other days, I am able to go out to the field and ride along in the tractor with the farmer as he harvests or plants. Some other time, I cover conventions like this. An interesting part of my day is when I talk with people who listen to our network.
