
NAFB Foundation 2025 Scholarship Judging
Welcome to the NAFB Foundation Scholarship Judging portal. For nearly 50 years, a hallmark of NAFB and its foundation has been to invest in and providing a path for future ag communicators and leaders.
Since 1977, the NAFB Foundation has provided financial support and educational opportunities in the form of college scholarships to students in pursuit of careers in agricultural communications. The foundation provided the first scholarship for $1,000 in 1977, and since then more than 160 students have received scholarships totaling $685,750 to pursue careers in agricultural communications.
This year’s recipients will be recognized at the 2025 NAFB Convention this November in Kansas City, and each receives an expense-paid trip to attend the convention as part of the award.
There are 20 applicants to consider for 2025. The judging criteria and process are explained below. There were five additional applicants that were ineligible. Those include:

Once you click begin, you will start with the students in alphabetical order. Each profile contains a photo, their application packet, and audio statement, for judging. Each entry is judged on ten areas – Acadmic Record, Letters of Reference, Essays, Audio Statement, NAFB Student Membership, Communications & Work Experience, Leadership, Community Involvement and Financial Need. Each area’s point value is posted with the category along with guidelines for scoring. Additionally, the first three field – Academic Record, Financial Needs, and NAFB member, are pre-scored for you.
