I would like to thank everyone for attending NAFB Convention, and to all of our sponsors that make the convention possible. I hope you found the NAFB convention valuable to your career, and professional development. My goal for convention was to provide something for all three of our Membership Councils. We have had many compliments about the NAFB Exchange this year, and it will continue and even be expanded next year. I especially want to thank the NAFB staff for all of their hard work in helping me organize convention.

We are just 8 weeks away from the 72nd NAFB Convention, Growing our Future To Harvest Our Success! We have several great speakers and sessions this year. I'm pleased to announce Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Ajit Pai will be speaking Friday, November 13 from 11-Noon.

I want you to stop for just a moment and remember what it was like to be in high school or a recent college graduate. Who did you look up to? Who was the one person that took the time to sit down with you, talk about their career choice and help send you on the path you are on today?

Now that we are all a bit older, do we take the time to be that? During the past couple of weeks, we have all been on the road at different farm shows and state fairs. From the pictures shared on social media, many of us are taking that moment to reach out and talk to the future broadcasters.  

During this past year's convention I spoke with several members and the one topic mentioned several times was centered on what NAFB means to them and how it's an unique organization. The conversations were brought to the board as we developed our 2015 committees.

As current research proves, farm radio is a daily, valuable source of information for farmers and ranchers. We sat down with several producers to discuss their radio listening habits. Erik Younggren from Hallock, Minnesota sits down with NAFB and discusses the importance of farm radio for his operation.
