NAFB will be attending the National Cattleman's Beef Association trade show (February 4-6, 2015) and Commodity Classic (February 26-28, 2015). We will have a booth at both shows, and driving show traffic to our booth using a pre-show direct mail. Our goal is to connect trade show attendees with NAFB member stations offering farm programming in their area. And, ask a few questions about radio usage as well.

Past NAFB President, and centenarian Russell Pierson sends his greetings to NAFB members. Russell will celebrate his 103th birthday on December 15. He was NAFB President in 1973, retired from the mic in 1980. Prior to joining WKY in 1958, Russell served as a county agent in Oklahoma.

As I drove home Sunday after convention, a song kept playing over and over in my head, You've Got a Friend In Me. I overheard a student conversation about how we all work so well together, sharing audio and equipment. One student said you wouldn't see that in any other media group, they are right. What we do as Farm Broadcasters is so unique, yet we are willing to go the extra mile to help out someone who will air the same story we just worked on.

During the Marketing and Promotion meeting at Convention, we presented the first round of findings from the Ipsos research. This research was conducted via email survey, September 5015, 2014. The research was a nation-wide survey with 529 respondents, with at least $100,000 Gross Farm Income in 2013, 85 percent of those who responded reported GFI of $250,000 or more.
