Years of Experience: 30
Board Experience: For the past year I have served as an Allied Industry Council representative for the NAFB Board of Directors and have genuinely enjoyed the opportunity. One year is too short to get acclimated to the Board and really get into things. A second term would allow me to continue what was started this year.
Bio: As I look at it, Allied, by definition is - we are joined or united in a close relationship; we are of similar nature, related. Allied Industry Council, AIC, is a group of people with a responsibility, an interest, a concern for the radio industry and how it affects us, our companies, our clients and farmer/ranchers all over the country. The AIC is an integral segment of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting and I am committed to being an active part of it.
I grew up working on dairy farms and an Arabian horse farm before I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a double major in agricultural business and ag marketing. I have now been working nearly 30 years with clients in the agriculture, business-to-business, and food industry segments. As a Media Supervisor at Charleston|Orwig for the past 14 years I work to gather information in order to identify the most likely target audiences for the clients and how best to reach them efficiently and effectively, the goal being to get the greatest impact for their messages. My career in advertising has been built on a solid foundation of doing my homework to learn everything possible about my client, the industry, the product and the best ways to deliver media plans that are on target, on budget and on time. Team player - being an active, dedicated team member is my mantra. Dedication, loyalty, honesty, attention to detail and hard work are a few of my strengths.
I have participated in the NAFB Convention for the past 11 years, doing so originally for Trade Talk, but then attending the Allied Industry Council meetings as well. When the Association changed its name to include the more all-encompassing term of Broadcasting was when I really felt a part of the group. It was a turning point for me to see that the Association truly meant what they were saying and were on a course to make the AIC a fundamental part of NAFB.
During my first term on the Board I have been able to contribute thoughts and insights as someone from the industry side. I would like to continue to represent you to help direct and shape the NAFB. I’d appreciate a re-election vote!
